Javier S. Medina Artesano

Javier Sánchez Medina, an Extremaduran in Madrid, began learning furniture restoration and ended up creating a workshop for crafts with natural fibers. In 2014, he opened Carpintería 28 in Malasaña, revolutionizing the neighborhood with his 'eco-trophies' and sun mirrors, all handmade with natural materials such as esparto grass, rattan and raffia. Although self-taught in the technique, he grew up in an environment where traditional crafts such as esparto grass and basketry were common. His modern and artisanal designs have captivated many, including Sarah Jessica Parker.
